Start Smart with Rochester PreK in the RCSD
If you are a city resident and your child will be 3 or 4 years old by December 1, enroll them for FREE PreK starting this fall.
PreK is available at 50 locations citywide, including two new centers and includes multilingual classes, potty training, community aftercare options and bus pass if needed.
2026 Back-To-School Jam
Your family is invited to the Back-to-School Jam on Saturday, August 22nd, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Loretta Johnson Middle School, located at 200 Genesee Street.
Enjoy free lunch, student activities, community resources, backpack giveaways, and fun for the whole family.
School is out. Summer meals are in!
Kids and teens ages 2 to 18 can get FREE breakfast and lunch this summer at school and community locations all across the Rochester community. Meals are served June 29 - September 4, 2026.
4th Annual Special Education Resource Fair
Join us for our 4th Annual Special Education Resource Fair on Saturday, September 12 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Dr. Iris J. Banister School No. 33.
Whether you are currently navigating special education services or just starting to wonder if your child needs extra support, we have something special day packed with learning opportunities and resources for parents and fun activities for the kids!
